Caving in….

The phrase I’ve used as the heading for this blog speaks for itself, I think! There’s a smattering of stories involving caves in the Bible. Some involve running away from danger, or God, or self. Caves become places of confrontation and change and new perspectives.

It has much to do with the light and darkness struggle within the human psyche.

Here’s my reflection:

Opening, closing,

light, shade and darkness.

Comfortable

or challenged….hope

and fear.

Floor of clay

walls of shaped rock.

Created and calling,

contemplation

and silence.

What am I here for?

A voice or command

..a whisper

of the Spirit’s presence.

It is enough

in this moment…..

of blessing.
