Come down, O Love divine!
seek thou this soul of mine
and visit it with thine own ardour glowing;
O Comforter, draw near,
within my heart appear,
and kindle it, your holy flame bestowing.
The words of this well known hymn just popped into my head as I woke this morning. I have to say that this is not a usual occurence, but I always take note when it does!
The opening words of the hymn immediately focus our attention on the Holy Spirit; God’s active agent in the world and in our lives. The hymn reminds us that it is the Spirit who makes real the love of God in our hearts and souls; now and forever.
I simply want to leave you with the opening words, and allow you to experience love Divine.
