Taken as the sun went down a couple of days ago. It just spoke to me about the brush strokes of an artist, but in the sense of the Divine Artist. The creative God who lifts our spirits by simple acts throughout our days. It is so easy to miss what is presented, because of our preoccupation with so many other things.
God speaks to us constamtly, but we miss the moment, because of the clamour of noise in our own thought life. The Psalmist writes in Psalm 46 verse 10; ‘Be still and know that I am God.’ A simple sentence, with profound consequences. This is an invitation, an offering, to take a step.
It is easy to be distracted and then to simply give up. God does not stop reaching out to us, every moment of every day. The clamour of noise in my own head, fairly successfully blots out any opportunity for stillness; or so I tell myself!
My experience is that God reaches out to us in the middle of the noise, and never tires or gives up. I wander away from stillness and pay more attention to the internal noise.
As I took the photograph, I was utterly captivated by the moment that God gave me, and I whispered,… thank you, to the divine artist.
