Impressive, I’m sure you will agree! This oak tree carries within it some kind of memory of the more than 500 years it has been inexistence. Planted in the Dunham Massey estate as a sapling, it has withstood the vagries of weather and human interference. What tales it could tell, but there is a sense that even without language, it speaks to us.
For me it is the endurance that the tree represents. It reveals that throughout the twists and turns of existence there is a thread, of life and gift at the heart of creation. This comes from the Creator of all, the one who holds all and gives us glimpses of deeper meanings than we sense and see, but quite often ignore.
