A large outdoor plug hole. Unusual, suprising and in a strange way captivating. The phrase ‘pulling the plug’, has a sense of ending with the possibility of new directions.
You may be going through such a moment in your life as you read this. The photograph captures the movement of water from a banked river to a human contsructed hole! There are times in life when we may be drifting along quite positively and then we suddenly get ‘caught up’ in a disturbing moment, which comes unannounced.
Here are some words from the Gospel of John; Jesus speaks these words…’The wind blows wherever it pleases. You hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.”
There is reassurance in these words. Pulling the plug, taking a new direction, seeing differently are other phrases that we could use.
I pray that you will not be afraid of new directions or the gentle whisper of the Holy Spirit of God.
