Built and used between 5,000 -3500 years ago on the Isle of Arran. People trying to make sense of their world and their deities. I found the whole thing quite overwhelming.
It stopped me in my tracks and got me thinking about the God of Love who I worship. If I could time travel and meet those who erected these stones over a period of 2000 years, what a conversation it would be!!
Looking outward, looking inward, joining with others, trying to make sense of the world. The Apostle John wrote this…. ‘We have known and have believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and those who remain in love remain in God and God remains in them.’ (1 John 4;16) . What did the Machrie Moor people discover? After all they were as much part of God’s Creation as we are.
