The words of young Bilbo Baggins as he sets off, in Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Such a seemingly simple moment, perfectly captured!
It speaks so powerfully of the journey which we all embark upon in our own lives, both daily and more long term.
I have been blessed in my own journey with the guidance of the love of God. Not just in the good times, but in the challenging times when the road has been difficult to find and I have wandered away from the guiding of the love of God.
I have always sensed the accompanying of the Holy Spirit, who is the suprising element in each of our lives. Just when it seems like the road is blocked or hard to find, we can be suprised with the love of God…often the ‘still small voice of calm’.
Be prepared to be suprised!!!!
